Having been saved, (born again) at an early age and having the
assurance of my salvation and having evidence of that new birth,
I now desire to grow in my relationship with the Lord. The following
has really helped me and I want to share it with you if you desire a
closer relationship with your Saviour.

This is what I personally do faithfully, to develop a growing
relationship. I am not boasting but only trying to help you.

1. I begin early (Matthew 6:33) each day reading the Bible, the Word of God.
I need to read what God has to say to me. Some devotional books are good
but reading the Bible is most important. Listening to Christian music is no
substitute. Here is a daily Bible schedule you can use. (print it out)

It only takes 10 or 15 minutes to read 2 or 3 chapters a day. One chapter
a day is better than nothing. If you are a new Christian begin reading in
book of St. John, then Matthew, Mark, Luke and Acts.

If you don't understand some words or verses, pray and ask God to give
you understanding but keep on reading. If you miss a day start again the
next day. Remember, good relationships means good communications.

2. Next I talk to God. I use this form to keep track of who I am praying for
and list all the answers to my prayers as well as the blessings on the right
side and the back of this form. I do not pray in generalities but in specifics. (print it out)

This form will help you in many ways. If you will list your prayer requests and
keep it current it will not be difficult for you to list all your answered prayers
and blessings. It will take some thinking on your part. I usually fill the right
side and the back up by the end of the year. What a blessing it is to me to see
how God has blessed my prayer life. It will encourage you as you review
all the blessings and prayers God has answered.

3. I use this.  I "take off" stuff that is not pleasing to God and then I "put on" what
is righteous. Then I am ready to "put on the whole armor of God." (print it out)
    (Listen to this)

4. Lastly I ask God to fill me with His Holy Spirit and then I thank Him for filling
me. I want God to control my life and give me His power to live the Christian
life for His honor and glory.

Please print out this booklet on "How to be filled with the Spirit." (print it out)
    (a good video)

Jesus said, "The thief (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might
have it more abundantly." John 10:10

Dear Friend, I do the above the first thing each morning. It only takes less than
one hour to have my devotions. By putting first things first I have found my day
goes a lot better by putting God first. What is one hour when God has given you
and me 24 hours every day of our lives? We spend more time doing things that
are not as important; don't you agree? My relationship with God today is better
than it ever has been. All praise be to God! The abundant life is the way to go.
Blessings and answer to prayer are much better than the alternative.
