WHY I USE VISUAL AIDES?

       LOOK AT THIS GRAPH

    People only retain 10% of what they hear. The ear gate.

    People retain 35% of what they see. The eye gate.

    People retain 65% of what the hear and see. Both the ear and eye gate.

Note: I have used visual aid in the business world as a salesmen and I have continued to use them in all of my ministries.

Pastors and teachers, you are not a liberal or modernist if you use a overhead projector or power point.

Consider this thought: The sounds from your beautiful choir are wonderful. But, are the words that are heard understandable? Not likely. I have been in churches where the words that are being sung are on the screen so people can understand what the choir is singing.

Why settle of only 10% retention when you can get 65%? We should want our people to retain as much as they can so it will make a difference in their lives. Amen?

HANDOUTS
I prepare a simple handout and give it at the end of the service to everyone at the door. This way the people can review my message and even share it with others.

The power points and the handouts take a lot of time on your part but the benefits are very rewarding. Without these your ministry will suffer and may fail in the long run.
