Let me introduce ourselves.

        The Lord called Carol and myself into the ministry in 1966 from the business world.  We were trained to be the directors of CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) for Jefferson County, Birmingham, Alabama.  Following that God called me to pastor two churches in the Birmingham, Alabama area.  In 1971 God called us to Tennessee Temple (TTU), in Chattanooga, TN, to further our education and become more effective in the ministry.

        While attending TTU, I worked, in addition to my classes, 30 hours a week in the visitation department.  My job description was to go door to door winning people to Christ, bringing them to church, getting them baptized and encouraging them to be faithful church members.  After doing this for two years I accepted the position as pastor of the Dalton Baptist Temple in Dalton, GA for two years.  I graduated from TTU in 1974 and Carol in 1975.

        In the summer of 1975 God called me to be the pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL.  The four year we were there God took the church from 50 up to around 300 in attendance, from 5 missionaries to 50 missionaries.  At our annual missionary conference in 1979 God called us to be BIMI (Baptist International Missions, Inc.) missionaries in the Philippines.  We resigned our church in July of 1979, raised our full support and arrived with two of our four children, Nathan and David, in the Philippines on July 1, 1980.

        We planted our first church in LaLoma, Quezon City, Metro Manila, September of 1980.  In 1982 we established our first Bible Institute to train nationals for the ministry.  Since that time God has increased that work to over 100 churches (planted by graduates of our Bible Institutes) and over 60 Bible Institutes, all located on the island of Luzon.  BAMA (Baptist Asian Missions Association) was established in 1989 to assist nationals in planting churches and Bible Institutes.

        We are planning to expand our ministry.  Our people in the Philippines are trained to the point where we can spend some time helping others.

        Isa. 54:2 says: "Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes."  We want to "enlarge", "stretch forth", "lengthen", and "strengthen".

        In addition to working with our own pastors we plan to spend some time helping other missionaries in the Philippines especially the younger ones.  We would also like to help missionaries in other areas of the world as we are invited and as the Lord provides.
        
       There are 6 areas where we can assist other missionaries:
            Mission Conferences (Faith Promise)
            Family Life Conferences
            Financial Seminars (How to build indigenous churches in third world countries)
            Help set up Bible Institutes
            Short term help teaching in Bible Colleges
            Short term furlough supply

        Due to my medical problems of the past years, we will be ministering part time in the Philippines, and BIMI has approved our ministry of helps to missionaries around the world.
