WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

This is what you need to know and believe!

The Bible says that we can know for sure that we will have a home in heaven.  But first, there are some things that you need to know.  First, we are all sinners.  We have all done something wrong, like lying, cheating, stealing, bad thoughts, etc.  The Bible says  "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" (Romans 3:10);  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).  These verses do not reveal anything new to you and me.  We can just turn on the television, and see people in sin, but even closer than that, we can look at ourselves and see sin.

Second, There is a price on sin. 
The Bible says  "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23).  Sin does not just cause a physical death, but a spiritual death also.  See, heaven is a perfect place, and if we are not perfect, we cannot enter there.  
If imperfection enters a perfect place, the place will no longer be perfect.  The only other place to spend eternity other than heaven is hell.  The Bible describes hell as 
a place of misery, pain, torment, and darkness.  I know that if I had a choice, 
I would want to go to heaven!

Third, Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins. 
The Bible says  "But God commendeth (demonstrated or showed) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8).  Even though we are sinners, Christ gave His life on the cross so that we may go to heaven.  Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, and died to pay our sin debt.  It is like being in jail, and someone pays your bail.  You are now free to go!  This is what Jesus Christ did for you!  Jesus paid for our sins, so that you and I can go to heaven!

If Jesus would take you just the way you are, forgive you of your sins, and give you a home in heaven, would you let Him do it?

The Bible says  "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10).

All you have to do is take this free gift of eternal life.  Remember there was a price on sin, but the verse actually says more than that. The Bible says  "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23).  Sin has a price!  Eternal life is a free gift!  Sin is something that YOU have to pay for.  Eternal life is something that is FREE!  All you have to do is take it!  You must turn from your sin (that is repentance) and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as your only Saviour. Repentance is a change of mind with a change of actions.

The Bible says "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  All you have to do is ask God to save you and He will do it!  

The Bible says "SHALL BE SAVED", not might be, if he does this or that, if he goes to church, if he gives money, if he is good; the only thing you have to do is call on the name of the Lord!

If you want to know for sure that you will spend eternity in heaven just pray this prayer to God.  Remember it is not the words that saves you, but what you believe in your heart!  "Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sin.  I believe you died on the cross, and I believe you were raised from the dead and never to died again.  Please come into my heart and save me right now, and take me to heaven when I die.  Thank you for coming in.  AMEN."

How was that?  That wasn't hard was it?  Now Christ lives in you!  And He is there forever.  You will never loose your free gift of salvation.  The Bible says "...I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5) The Lord Jesus Christ is there forever! (Read: John 3:16; John 5:24; John 10:27-28; 1 John 5:11-13 for assurance of your salvation)
